We collected children’s books to donate to the Children’s Hospital of Savannah.
Books are magical. They can help provide readers with comfort and connection and even help them learn to process emotions. Books can bring joy and laughter; they can entertain and pass time; and they can also provide moments where readers can escape into enchanted worlds. We wanted children at the hospital to have these special moments, so we collected books for them.
We connected with a child life specialist at the hospital and delivered to her at the end of our drive. The hospital has a new free library and a book cart where children can select books to keep, so we wanted to help supply some of these books. Books needed to be new and have a hard cover (so they can easily be cleaned). We created social media ads and a video to let people know about the campaign.

Our Book Drive Was a Huge Success
We collected over 68 books!! Books came from all over! We had people order on Cyber Monday and Giving Tuesday and mail directly to us for collection. We even put a donation bin at our church. In the end, we had donations come from Georgia, Pennsylvania, Germany, Virginia, New York, and South Carolina!
