We designed eCards for donations to support our district’s therapy dog program. We collaborated with ECSD’s PUP Program to have funds directly linked to them and their initiatives.
It costs $1250 to train a therapy dog, so that was our goal. The district had 7 dogs at the time and was trying to grow the program to have one dog at every school (16 dogs). Our goal was to raise enough to fund one more dog into this program. We made $1130 from the eCard initiative, and then spoke with our school’s Beta Club to run a fundraiser in the new year to make up the difference, AND WE DID IT!!!!

They were emailed to recipients with a message about the therapy dog program in our county.
This year we chose to support this particular program because earlier in the school year a neighboring district experienced fatalities with a mass school shooting. Our district’s dogs went to this county in the following days to provide support and comfort for those who’d experienced this traumatic loss. Our PUP program supports the mental health of students and faculty not only in the wake of a trauma, but also with everyday life stressors. We wanted to do our part to help grow this program and provide our peers with access to the comfort and support this program provides.
