We collected journals and pens for therapists to use in schools for students who’d lost a parent to COVID.

- We did chores to earn money and go shopping for journals, gel pens, and colored pencils.
- Using Canva, we made a Facebook ad for Mom to share digitally.
- We even wrote letters to the community asking for their support too.

2021
Our impact.
In December of 2021, there were at least 20 students at one of the high schools who’d lost a parent to COVID. The district partnered with local therapists to provide mental health support in the school.
As part of the Snowflake Project, we collected journals and pens to be used by these students during therapy. What started with 4 journals, 2 sets of colored pencils, and 2 packs of gel pens, exploded into a blizzard of love and compassion from our community. We ended up collecting 3 sets of crayons, 78 journals, 40 packs of colored pencils, 25 sets of gel pens, and well over $100 in Amazon cards to buy more. We found support from people in GA, SC, VA, OH, TX, NY, and even Italy
